Fifty-four cases of abdominal tumors under 15 years of age, admitted to Seoul National University
Hospital, during the past 9 years from April 1963 to March 1971 were reviewed briefly.
The following results were obtained.
1. Sex ratio showed M:F=26:28.
2. The majority of patients, 30(57%), were between 1 and 5 years and 11 cases were between 6
and 10 years, 9 cases were under 1 year and 4 cases were between 11 and 15 years.
3. Among total cases reviewed, 14 were intraabdominal tumors and 40 were retropritoneal tumors.
Ovarian tumors and hepatoma were the most common among intraabdominal tumors While wilms´
tumor and nertoblastoma comprised almost all of the retroperitoneal tumors.
4. On pathologic study, 37 cases were malignant, 8 cases were benign and 9 cases were nonneoplastic
cysts.
